I'm Ed Stokes, a mixing engineer with over 10 years of experience and the host of the Stokes Sound podcast.

I mix and produce for independent artists, and over the years I kept meeting the same kind of person: talented, hard-working and stuck. They had hundreds of tutorials behind them and a hard drive full of songs nobody had heard. What they needed wasn't more information. They needed a system, and someone to hold them to it.

That's why I built the Stokes Sounds Academy: a coaching programme that gives self-producing artists the structure, feedback and accountability to mix and release their own music with confidence, for the rest of their career.

On the podcast I've interviewed some of the best engineers in the world, including Grammy winners Leslie Brathwaite, Tony Maserati and Miles Walker. Everything I learn from them goes back into how I mix and how I teach.
